There a flap of skin on the outside of my lip ring.?

i got some crappy jewelry, and my lip ring had a reaction, and the skin started to like...grow up the hoop kind of. i figured out it was because of the bad jewelry, so i went back to the tattoo place where i got it down, and nowi have good quality jewelry, whatever. but now the flap of skin is still on the outside of my lip ring [lower left side] and i aws wondering if its going to go away. the new hoop [actually its a horseshoe, but whatever] had only been in for about a day, but i was just want to know if its going to go away, and when. i dont want this thing on the outside of my lip forever.
