How to make a HUGE bonfire?

My best friend is coming home from Florida, and we are having a backyard bonfire get together. You know, volleyball, horseshoes, trampoline, music, all the fun stuff. And when the night comes I want a huge bonfire, like a couch burning crazy 10 foot tall fire. And yes, its in a perfectly safe area, I live on a ton of land. How would I make this huge bonfire? And please dont just say get wood and gas and a couch and light it. Ive been to a few of these giant fires, but ive never actually tried making one before.
