Can you get your lip pierced with braces?

So I have braces and I'm getting my lip pierced today, hopefully, if blue horseshoe tattoo will do it since I have braces. I was looking up these questions and a girl said she asked her orthodontist that day and he said it was perfectly fine. Other people say it isn't a good idea. The piercing has a flat back and I don't understand how one piece of metal can interfere with a whole bunch of other metal? Lol. Will Blue Horseshoe tattoo pierce it if I have braces?
